So, many of you know that Matthew's work schedule has put a real damper on things this year. We had planned to go to AZ for Christmas and I was very excited. Especially because last year I was huge and pregnant and couldn't travel. We had the dates all squared away...UNTIL...his job put the axe on our plans. He has to work Christmas Eve and the day after. I think that every place of employment should give you a full week off between Christmas and the New Year.
So my dilemma you ask? What the heck am I going to do for Christmas??? Well, I haven't decorated my house AT ALL! It's rather depressing. As of now, here is what we would be waking up to on Christmas morning!

(W.T.-I know)
I even used my ugliest wrapping paper because it wasn't going under a tree! And Matthew wonders why I'm so depressed about staying in CA. Maybe this year I'll suck it up and give in to Matthew's dream of a REAL Christmas tree? Ugh. What should I do with only one week to spare. Big Bear anyone? That would be perfect if there was someone to watch my child. Hmmmm...do you think anyone is busy Dec. 25th?
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that we will be able to travel after Christmas. So, to my AZ peeps...mark your calendars and hopefully we can ring in the new year together December 28th through Jan. 2nd!

Hmm..which one has my name on it?? I am so bummed that I have to wait to see your face another week. I will eat extra banana cream pie and call you on thursday during the exchange. Hugs..
Christmas in California is awesome! Maybe you should just decorate for a fun "tacky" christmas to match your paper. Enjoy setting your own traditions.
That sucks! Hey last year our Christmas was N.F. either but we made it work. At least Collin is not old enough to know anything. Just go get a charlie Brown tree and have fun decorating it the old fashion way! You never know it might be the most memorable Christmas you will ever have! Anyone who knows you knows that you make any situation a fun one!
SO cheer up girl and get shopping! :) We will miss you though!
One year we bought our Christmas tree on Christmas Eve because our families were so appalled that Emery didn't have a tree in her house. She was not even one. But it was really cheap (and dying) so that was good. Thanks for the tip on the picture...I finally got it to work!!!
Matt, your fam is looking good. Have a Very Merry Christmas. I'm looking after your bro here in Flagstaff for you.
Seriously, I'm so sad, and if you don't come after Christmas I don't know what I"m going to do! I HATE Mathew's work!
Work always gets in the way of things!! Bummer. Hopefully you will be able to come after Christmas. You for sure need to get a tree! Then it will feel more like Christmas.
hello, I am Brooke, Summer's friend and also Ashley's I think that your blog is adorable. I think that you should give in to a real tree, it is only one week. it will make your house smell good.
Oh Meegan,
that really made me laugh....your "ugly" wrapping paper and all! I say go get yourself a tree and make it the best Christmas Long Beach has ever seen! I can't wait to see you...we'll miss you at the gift exchange :(
You are having the delima of the Christmas I wish for. How fun to just be a family and relish in the ability to be alone and enjoy Collin and Mathew. (I don't know if that's one "t" or two)
Hey Meggers--I guess this means no go on the Rose Parade...maybe next year. This does mean, however, that we might see some sweet Hess moves at Billy's bash. Expect an evite! Maybe Dan will karaoke Thug Mansion again this year. Oh, yes, he did!
Hi! I am glad you are staying here! If you are bored when Matthew has to work, call me and we will get together! I can't believe that they don't give him more time off. When I was in Corporate Retail we had off from Christmas Eve until after New Years and it was the absolute BEST!!! What is up with Paige? Talk soon. XOXO and enjoy your own Christmas here in CA with your cute little fam!
I'm sad that your so sad. You know you always have an open invitation the the Rosenlof Christmas extravanganza!! Be happy.. we will make it good.
I am so sorry your Arizona plans have been delayed. But, cheer up sister! I say you get a REAL tree, decorate it with your family while enjoying some hot chocolate, put your "ugly" wrapped presents under the tree, rent and watch "Christmas Vacation" and enjoy every second of it! Then call me.
Dont worry Megan, we are staying here in Cali too...but my parents got here yesterday so it's not that bad. You need to do my hair soon, since I am stylist-less these days! And you are right down the street from us in Seal! I will have to call you after the holidays are over....
