A Name and a Blessing

Yesterday was Blake's Special Day. It was a very low key event but a very important event in her little life. She is loved by many who weren't able to make it but we were grateful to those who were here and a part of the day. I'm really sad I didn't get any pictures of those important people.
Here are a few other bits and pieces that were special to me...
The accessories...
Bracelet: made by my mom
Headband: made by littlejardin
Blanket: made by Trisha
Shoes: made by Target (or one of their people)
Dress: created by Melissa Nash of Hula Mula
Cutest Baby: made by us

So about this name. How did it come about?
We really had a hard time with deciding on Blake's name. We had a few front runners but never could agree. I loved Blake and he loved a few others that my mother's intuition just couldn't agree with.
It wasn't until a kind of crazy delivery and about 2 emotional breakdowns (due to the delivery), that Matthew let me know what her name was. She was about 8 hours old when the nurse came in and asked if we had decided. I shook my head no and he told her we have decided on Blake. I was surprised and happy but confused that he never discussed it with me.
We knew if we used the name Blake that her middle name would be Ellen. Contrary to what many thought, she was not named her after this Ellen or this one...there is in fact a more special meaning beyond my soulja boy debut.
Ellen is my Dad's Mother's name. She was a very special lady who's name that I hope Blake will always honor and appreciate.
There you have it. My little Blake Ellen Hess.
