teacher's pet.

My Matthew. Easy guy to love...unless of course you are playing against him in any sport. Throughout our 8+ years together, I have learned of his famous 8th grade teacher who he loved dearly. She certainly made an impact on his life and if I do say so myself, I think he made one on hers. She even named her son Matthias after one of her 'favorite students'. About a week ago, we were lucky enough to meet up with her and a few other students for dinner. It was so fun to finally meet this superstar that I had heard about so much. Matthew's mom keeps in pretty good contact with her but it had been over 25 years since he had seen Mrs. Jordan. I could tell this was one special lady who loved her job and truly found joy in teaching her students. I'm glad that there are amazing people like this who are willing to make a difference in children's lives.

I'm really touched. Seriously 25 years and they still remember each other enough to go to dinner?? THAT is some impact. I like Mrs Jordan already.
