since 'becoming of age', i've asked her several time if she wanted pink nails. to which she always replies with a definite NO!
This morning as i was trimming her nails i thought i would take advantage of an opportunity.
she cried.
she said it hurt.
she tried to squirm away.
but like any good mother would do...i stuck to my plan and forced those nails to be polished!
here was her initial reaction...very unhappy about the outcome.
as i consoled her with an episode of mickey mouse clubhouse (usually does the trick), this was her position throughout the entire show as she whined about taking it off. i think she secretly likes it.

I LOVE IT! A beauty queen in the making! There is pain in beauty and she is learning young. I have told my girls that a time or two (when brushing through ratted hair)!
Don't worry that I just did a little drive by early this morning to spy on you. I found your house and it's darling. Katie had an early day at school... so it was a bit too early to honk and shout out my window "MEGAN I LOVE YOU".... but maybe next time!
At least she will wear a princess dress! Shelby loves the nail polish, but won't get near a princess dress!
Collin has definite opinions - soon you are going to be fighting over wardrobe choices - I see it in your future. By then you will have a new little girl to dress up. You are so lucky!

I love that she watched the whole show like that. I thought you were going to say she ended up loving her fingernails... and admired them throughout the whole show. Maybe next time?

I love it. I can't even get near Kai with the clippers before he is screaming his head off. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have girls.

I painted my sons toenails once, in a boyish color of course and I even drew little tiger faces on the nails. He had a blast until we went out in public and he wouldn't get out of the car cause he was embrassed cause he was wearing flip-flops. He was only 3!!
that is so funny. Jocelyn hates to get her fingernails cut too and I always reward her with painting her toes and she loves it. She sticks her foot out and sits so still. I love little girls. By the way any name picks for the new little girl. How about Polly??? Love ya girl.
Beauty doesn't come easy. Nice that you are teaching her early. I'm sure that she will learn to love them. I think they are adorable
