We made it through week one of 2 kids! Hooray for us. That's not to say that it didn't come with some interesting bumps along the road. However, we survived. Collin is doing such a great job being a big sister. She covers her mouth (almost) every time she coughs her nasty cough and managed to mostly touch Blake's toes during her time with Pink Eye! A fun little addition to bringing home a new baby!
nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnOn Wednesday we decided to take our first 'Family Outing'. We took advantage of the beautiful sunny day and had a nice lunch in Huntington Beach followed by a little window shopping before our first Doctor's appointment.
At our appointment we learned some news about our perfect baby girl. We were immediately sent to C.H.O.C. hospital to do some further research. Some people spend their summers in beautiful vacations spots...we prefer seeing new hospitals! We spent one night in this place and were going CRAZY to get out! Unlike our ocean view room at delivery, here is the not so beautiful view from this room...
Our little Blakey Girl will have to undergo surgery in a few months. Unfortunately, there were some things that didn't develop properly but with the help of amazing doctors, she will be able to recover and have no future problems. The first day at the hospital, we were very scared, emotional, nervous, and anxious to learn more. After meeting with a team of surgeons, we feel comfortable and at peace with what is to come. We know that things could be much worse and we are grateful for the health that she has.
Let's cross our fingers for week 2 being a little less eventful!

What! Oh, I hope everything is ok. Sounds like it will be. I can't believe how much newborns change in one week. She's adorable! Collin is so cute with her sissy. Pink eye and a cough? Bummer.

Megan, she is absolutely adorable! I have lived the baby sugery route with Hayden. It is scary but so many blessings come. If you ever need anyone to talk to about hospitals, we pretty much see all the doctors... cardiologist, nuerologist, gastro, ent, developmental, etc. I would love to help. Hang in there! Having health issues even makes them more lovable!
Poor little Girlie. Sounds like you need a vacation already. She is so cute and chubby!
Congrats! She is a beauty! We just had our first (and last) girl after having 3 boys! Little girls are so much fun! We will keep your family in our prayers! I know exactly how you feel. Two days after we brought our baby home from the hospital she stopped breathing and turned blue. We spent lots of time in the ICU. We were scared out of our minds. We really relied on faith of preisthood blessings and prayer. They performed every test under the sun and they couldn't find anything wrong. They sent her home on a breathing moniter(it will set off an alarm if she was to stop breathing) and she hasn't had any problems sense then. Everything has been wonderful and she doesn't even need the moniter anymore. PRAYER WORKS! Just thought I would share our experience with you because I know the heart ache you are feeling. Just enjoy your sweet baby and try not worry to much. I'm sure all will be well!
She is still so perfect.. even with her little imperfection. Sorry that is was a rough couple of days but glad that you are feeling more at peace with things. Smiles-Smiles-Smiles!

Man she is cute! I love her! I am so sorry about last week and your bump in the road but everything will be fine. Like you said.. things could be worse. I am so glad that she was at CHOC with the best possible care around! When she has to have her surgery I would love to help with Collin and have her over. Keep me posted and lets have these two baby girls of ours meet up soon here in the next few weeks! xoxo

Megan she is just darling! I am glad that all will be well with surgery... the kidney condition that Cash was born with is now fixed because of wonderful surgeons. I know Blake will soon be in the same boat. Hugs!
IM so sorry you are going through some tuff times! It's always horrible when it's your babys.. Cause there is nothing you can do! And you get Angry.. Trust me , we have been there with our little guy Harley & Ryker! Having Baby's is a scary thing. But it will all work out. Heavenly father will bless your little baby girl. We will keep her in our prayers. I hope you and your husband are doing well! p.s I met your cute friend Lacy the other day. Travis is friends with her Hubby Jesse. So we went to the lake with them. I love her, she is so FUN!
