love those Germaine's

One of my best friend's family had a rough start to Christmas this year. When I was 8 years old I grew up running down the street to this funnest blue house to play with my friends Shauni and Molly. Over the years, I was one of the many fortunate people who was always welcomed in this home. Welcomed is an understatement, it was so much more than that. This wonderful family is honestly one of the most kind and generous families around. They are constantly giving to others. Helping those in need. I always knew I could walk into this house at any time and there would be something fun going on, good food to eat, and plenty of great company. This 30 year old home truly was the heart of this family. It was devastating to hear the news that 3 days before Christmas, this home was completely destroyed by a fire. I still get emotional thinking about all that they lost and that it couldn't have happened to a more giving family. It is crazy to watch how well each of them have handled this situation. They are grateful for the health that they all have and that no one was injured. My heart hurts for these dear friends of mine. I know because of their strong family ties that they will look for and find the blessings that will come from this experience.

oh my goodness, that is so tough. I am so sorry. I read a really good quote somewhere that touched me about how when there is no one home, the home is just a house, but what makes a house a home is when you put the people and love inside. Something a long those lines.

crickets.

anyway, my heart goes out to them. What a blessing to have such an awesome family as neighbors. Quite a treat in deed.

My husband grew up down the street from the Germaine's (the Rohner's). It was HORRIBLE watching their house burn like that. IT's even worse driving by there seeing all of their stuff sitting outside in piles. We love their family... they are such troopers!
